Required Experience and Technical Skills
3 Years Minimum Experience as a Journeyman Class A Electrician or Instrumentation Technician.
Read and correlate information from blueprints; understand electrical one line schematics and trouble-shoot off them.Capable of comprehending electrical and electronic theory; Logic and Control Principles and the Application thereof.
Read P & ID's and correlate location, service and type of instrument; ableto interpret control schematics and logic diagrams.
Possess the ability to perform bench calibration of pneumatic instruments, transmitters, controllers and recorders; pressure testing pneumatic instruments for leaks; pressure testing pneumatic instruments with controllers, transducers and valves in service; troubleshoot pneumatic instruments from blueprints,: and have good working knowledge of pneumatic test equipments.
Troubleshoot/ Repair industrial electrical systems, motor starters, motor controls (energized) ; controls of Variable Frequency Drives and SCR Drives: sizing thermal-overloads, breakers, and fuses.Troubleshoot/repair/replace small instruments such as E.O.V.'s, thermocouples, incinerator fire eyes, photo eyes, pressure switches, etc.
Familiar with MCC and switchgear work.
P.L.C. trouble-shooting.
Perform bench calibration and field calibration of electronic instruments, transmitters, controllers, recorders, transducers, and valves.
Knowledgeable of the use of decade resistance box, V.O.M., Valve and position stroke; tuning of all types of loops; AMP meter; and 1000 volt insulation tester.
Must be able to assist engineering with redlines, as-builts and specifications.
Must be able to help other crafts troubleshoot.
Operate Forklift and Manlift.
Must learn process systems to assist operations with troubleshooting.
Must be computer literate.
Capable of performing industrial construction duties, electrical code interpretation and Electrical PM's.
Repair and maintain plant lighting.
Maintain DC Power back-up systems (battery band and controls)
