Overview:
Jacobs provides facility engineering, maintenance and operations, and institutional services to support NASA''s missions at Stennis Space Center (SSC), a potentially 10-year effort with an estimated value of $561 million. Jacobs also supports programs for more than 30 other Federal and state agencies located at SSC that share and utilize the Center''s facilities and services. Responsibilities:
Works with customer to create and revise technical standards, procedures and work instructions. Conducts meeting to determine scope of change, documents meeting minutes, and updates documents. Reviews and edits technical studies, reports and other documents for engineering personnel and NASA customer.
Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires B.A. or B.S. in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or related discipline, plus minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of Technical Writing experience, including extensive experience in copy editing; additional relevant education or experience may be substituted. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office 2007 software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Visio and Adobe Acrobat experience preferred. Must work well with others in a team environment. Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders and co-workers. Must be well organized and able to multi-task.
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop, phone or during filing. (90%)
May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 40 lbs. (2%)
Work Environment:
An inside environment/cubicle (considerations: closed quarters, close together, lighting). (90%)
Travel between various facilities at SSC may be required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (
Equipment and Machines:
Requires ability to operate a personal computer (typical software used is Microsoft Office), a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment. (100%)
Attendance:
Punctuality and regular attendance is required to meet deadlines. Attendance is critical at all times. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. Monday to Friday (100%).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
