Overview:
Jacobs provides facility engineering, maintenance and operations, and institutional services to support NASA''s missions at Stennis Space Center (SSC), a potentially 10-year effort with an estimated value of $561 million. Jacobs also supports programs for more than 30 other Federal and state agencies located at SSC that share and utilize the Center''s facilities and services. Our support to FOSC continues a tradition of four-decades-plus of support to SSC, beginning with the design of the test stands for the Apollo program''s rockets in early 1960s through today''s support to the Constellation program.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria; makes adaptations and modifications under the direction of senior engineers or supervisors. Performs project assignments that involve complex features and can be guided by industry codes, standards, and other design engineering precedents of the discipline. Serve as the Project Engineer, or in support role, to ensure that civil/structural tasks are completed in a timely manner. Depending on the project, this can vary from conceptual design to modifications to existing systems. Must possess the ability to meet and operate under deadlines and function as the project lead on projects. Duties include designs, cost estimates, drawing reviews, specification development, and studies. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience or a M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering and two (2) years of related engineering experience. Must possess a Mississippi PE or the ability to acquire a Mississippi PE within two (2) years, strong oral/written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office--Word, Excel and Outlook software. Must have the ability to design and analyze structures built of steel and concrete. Must possess familiarity and experience with numerical simulation tools such as MathCad, STAAD, Enercalc, and/or similar finite element modeling software and AutoCAD. Surveying and geotechnical engineering experience a plus. Must have a basic knowledge of the civil/structural engineering aspects related to the design and construction/modification of industrial and commercial type facilities. Must be able to perform civil/structural engineering calculations to determine factor of safety and industry code compliance. Experience writing technical construction specifications for concrete, steel, and related subject matter is a plus. Experience preparing cost estimates using RS Means or similar commercially available databases is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Could require sitting for extended periods of time while in the office. (60%)
While working in the field, must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities - crawl, climb, etc. (40%)
Work Environment:
Work will be performed both inside and outside depending on the task. May be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, and etc.) Travel between various facilities may be required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operations.
Equipment and Machines:
Requires ability to operate a personal computer (typical software used is Microsoft Office), a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment.
Attendance:
Punctuality and regular attendance is required (100%). Work hours are normally 8 hrs per day and 5 days per week, Monday thru Friday. Occasional paid overtime is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
