ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Engineering Department (N7), Engineering Service Division (N72), Physical Oceanography Support Branch (N723) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Responsibilities You will serve as shop leader the NAVOCEANO Glider Support Lab.
You will manage all aspects of the glider maintenance and testing program.
You will write, implement, and oversee performance of standardized shop and field test procedures to evaluate operation of gliders.
You will be acting as the branch purchase card holder.
You will be coordination and working with contractors on existing and new maintenance contracts.
You will serve as resident expert and provide guidance to less experienced technicians with regards to troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software problems.
You will perform quality assurance, inspections and general oversight and/or electronic and mechanical servicing.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in training, leading, motivating, developing and mentoring lower grade technicians in the area of electronics repair, electronic maintenance, electronic troubleshooting, undersea equipment and the technical concepts of glider operation.
Experience performing maintenance, repairs and quality assurance, inspection and general oversight or electronic and mechanical servicing to include repairs to wiring, replacing components and subassemblies within glider, assembly and disassembly of pressure housing, ballasting and pressure testing.
Experience serving as an expert and providing guidance to junior technicians with regard troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software problems affecting operation of the glider auxiliary sensor, shore and shipboard communications systems, and shipboard handling equipment.
Experience writing, implementing and overseeing performance of standardized shop and field test procedures to evaluate operation of gliders prior to deployment, after deployment and during initial receipt from the glider manufacture.
Experience and proficient with a variety of computer applications (e.
g.
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point) to utilize and interpret custom equipment specific software applications and spreadsheets for use in diagnosing and calibrating equipment.
