Registered Nurse I

Purpose of the Position Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.
Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
Licensing or registration required.
Perform general and special history taking.
Perform all tests for general and special health exams and for evaluation of occupational and non-occupational health complaints of employees.
Perform minor treatments.
Assist Medical Doctors in performing health exams and treatments and making referrals to off-site care providers.
Complete health records in accordance with clinic guidelines and privacy act requirements.
Work under direction of the Chief Nurse and Occupational Health Program Medical Director to accomplish mission of program.
Complete all required administrative records.
Go by ambulance or other prescribed vehicle to scene of mishaps when required, and participates as necessary in evaluation and treatment of injured or ill workers.

Duties and Responsibilities Perform general and special history taking.

Functionally capable of performing duties of job, including physical health, mental and emotional stability with no impairment that would limit performance.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing school, registered in any of the 50 states.
General or special nursing practice in a hospital setting of at least two years.
Diploma or Associated degreed RN with 5 years work experience; or BSN with no work experience required.
Training or experience in occupational medical setting preferred.
Licensed Registered Nurse State of Mississippi Working Conditions Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work.
Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.
Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.

Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license.
