Utilities Operations Manager at Dak Americas in Bay Saint Louis, MS
JOB DESCRIPTION DAK Americas is a globally competitive supplier of Terephthalic acid (TPA) - Monomers, Polyethylene Terephthalate Resins (PET & Recycled PET ) and Polyester Staple Fibers (PSF) for the western hemisphere. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, NC with manufacturing facilities in the Carolinas, Mississippi, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Position Responsibilities Plan, set direction and establish priorities to effectively manage day-to-day utilities operations using established systems and procedures. Identify and implement effective operations strategies, tools, and best practices. Implement actions to improve productivity and compliance to departmental goals. Develop annual budget and manage cost to meet operating budget objectives and lower conversion cost. Drive continuous improvement in all areas of operations including safety, operations, quality, and cost. Provide leadership and professionally manage operations area direct reports. Perform evaluations with feedback and manage training and skills progression programs. Drive behavior based safety culture and promote healthy, clean and good working environment. All other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS Required Skills 5 years of practical experience in manufacturing Accredited 4-year university degree required Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred Experience managing a chemical, utilities, or manufacturing area desired Good analytical and problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time Desire to work in a hands-on environment DAK Americas LLC is subject to US Department of Commerce export regulations and thus must hire individuals who meet national security requirements.
